A very good introduction to infection control. A good course for all healthcare workers to take. I will build on this initial content myself and encourage others to take this course. ~G.L.

Course Description: This module includes a description of the chain of infection and its specific links, discussion of the four key modes of transmission, as well as the common infectious agents found in the healthcare setting.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify the six links in the chain of infection
  • Differentiate the terms: reservoirs, portals of exit and entry, and susceptible hosts
  • Describe the four key modes of transmission
  • Identify some of the most common infectious agents in the healthcare setting
