Recommended Exercise for Diabetics

Diabetics are encouraged to exercise regularly for better blood sugar control and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The main reason for this is that muscles which are working use more glucose than those that are resting. However, not all exercise are recommended to diabetics. Any physical activity that raises the heart rate for twenty to thirty minutes and is performed on a regular basis will bring about health benefits. However, walking seems to be the most convenient, safe and beneficial exercise for diabetics. Buying an exercise equipment like treadmill can also help because you don’t have to go out just to walk. Activities like gardening, swimming, stationary bicycle riding, and resistance training to strengthen muscles can also be considered. However, be sure to consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.
